Watch out for Baby Ed in Minnesota this session!

(Baby Ed = an education system for children 0 to-5 years old.)

What do you think of a government curriculum for all child care and early childhood programs? What about an approved curriculum that is required in order to be certified? What about an early childhood curriculum that is based on the federal standards on Civics and Government established by the Center for Civics Educations (CCE)? (See "Civic Virtue and National Standards") What about required visits to your home by state employees that includes extensive data collection on your home and your family? What about the government being the primary authority over the values your child learns?

Last year the proponents of an expansion of government over the care and direction of children from birth through age 5 were deeply disappointed. They will be back with new federal money and intervention.

Baby Ed is Goal 1 of Goals 2000, the goal of putting government in charge of children, and calling it "school readiness." (See, "Goal #1 of Goals 2000 comes to MN Legislature,")

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION to this vital issue. Note the House hearing on January 30th.

Why attend? Just last week another state senator told us she doesn't see STW happening in the schools. Is this amazing? Right before our eyes there is an entire infrastructure and conferences in Minnesota featuring nationally recognized STW speakers, and our legislators don't know this is happening in Minnesota? Or that STW has "sunsetted?"

This is a way to personally hear from the promoters and a chance to express your personal objections.

Please let us know if you expect to attend. We encourage you to go!

Using state and federal documentation, Michael J. Chapman, a historian and education researcher, will explain how education is being transformed away from a broad-based academic foundation, towards work-based training that turns our schools into a "Human Supply Chain" under a centrally planned economy.

Mr. Chapman's presentation will help citizens understand the philosophy behind Minnesota's Profile of Learning and School-to-Work system, how these laws will affect ALL citizens from "cradle to grave" and how the current education law actually forces every classroom to adhere to the system. He will also offer solutions.
